COVID-19 Update - Conte 11 March 2020

I would like to begin by thanking, first of all and once again, the doctors, the health workers, the researchers who, as I speak to you, are working tirelessly in hospitals to combat the health emergency, to treat our patients. I also want to thank all of you, who are respecting the measures that the Government has taken to combat the spread of the virus. I thank you because I know that you are changing your habits, you are making sacrifices, I know it is not easy, but I also know that with this your renunciations – small or large – you are making a great contribution to the country.

COVID-19 Update - 09 March 2020

Dear All,
unfortunately, the evolution of the coronavirus situation in Italy forced the Italian Government to issue new restrictive measures affecting our everyday life. Here following you will find the new measures, effective until April 3rd, 2020.
The Government has divided Italy into 2 areas:
  • Orange area, including Lombardy (the provinces of Milan, Brescia, Bergamo, Mantua, Lodi, Pavia, Cremona, Sondro, Como) and other 14 provinces: Verbano, Vercelli, Novara, Asti, Alessandria (in Piedmont), Piacenza, Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena and Rimini (in Emilia Romagna), Venice, Padua and Treviso (in Veneto), Pesaro Urbino (in Le Marche).
  • Yellow area, including the rest of Italy

Dear fellow citizens,

Italy is facing a particularly challenging time. It is doing it with full transparency and completeness of information.

The pitfall of a new virus that is gradually affecting so many countries around the world is causing much concern. This is understandable and requires everyone to show a sense of responsibility, but we must absolutely avoid unmotivated and often counterproductive states of anxiety. We are a great modern country, we have an excellent national health system that is operating effectively and with the generous self-denial of its staff, at all professional levels. We will overcome the difficulties of these days. Also through the necessary adoption of extraordinary measures to support the work of health professionals engaged constantly for days and days: measures for the employment of new staff to support them and ensure the actual availability of equipment and materials, checking it in all hospitals.

MY PRIVATE ITALY: NO BASIL, NO PESTO

Basil is a plant which thrives off light and air. The air of the Ligurian Riviera. It is the star ingredient of a famous condiment, strictly ground in a marble mortar. No other way...

Ligurians far from their home land can often be spotted sighing at the sight of a basil leaf. A sigh of nostalgia, as the leaf evokes the aroma of a fragrant plant native to their distant land.

Here we are with some tips on words or phrases which Italian and English borrowed from Latin. I studied Latin at Secondary School and I strongly favour the teaching of Latin (at least in Italy), even if today it is seldom taught in schools other than Classical Lycees. Why?

When it comes to good food, you know, Italy always has something interesting to offer ... And Venice, with its maritime culture and its ancient traditions, is the perfect place to discover new flavors and try original dishes.

Many people get in touch with us because they are considering a tour in Italy, and they are just undecided between a coach tour and a private one. So they ask us: why should I take a private tour of italy? Why with your company? Here are 8 plus 1 good reasons, we hope you enjoy them!

I am in love with Tuscany: a perfect combination of landscapes, art, culture. I really am, also because "il mi nonno”, my grandfather, originally came from Serravalle, in the province of Arezzo. But there’s another reason why I love it so much: its CUISINE.
