We had a wonderful trip !
Dear Marcello,
We recently visited Italy and hired Vitor to book the tour and manage all the logistics. We are both retired and knew two things, we needed help and did not want to be in a large group on a bus. Vitor provided us a private tour experience which we both highly recommend. We booked our flight and Vitor handled everything else.
We gave Vitor a list of things we wanted to see and do. The staff then arranged the entire trip. They hired all the transport to and from the airport, hotels and venues. They booked all the hotels according to our standards. They bought all the tickets and hired all the private guides.
We visited 6 cities in 12 days. The drivers were always on time and waiting when we arrived. The guides were always on time. The trains were always on time. Vitor arranged the timing so we got off the train, walked to the transport, and arrived at our hotel in time to check in. No waiting in the lobby.
We arrived the first of April and left the 14th. The venues were crowded. There were tourists everywhere, shoulder to shoulder in some places. At the venues, there is the line, then there is the line to skip the line, then there is the best way to get in, have a certified guide walk you in with no waiting. When possible, that is how Vitor's guides got us in. They knew where to go and what to see. They were all knowledgeable and engaging.
Everyone spoke English. We studied Italian for a month or so before the trip so we could at least be polite. It definitely helped. Plus, we enjoyed it. But we did not need to know a great deal. It just made us comfortable and it was appreciated.
Vitor also solved problems. Halfway through the trip a hotel had mechanical issues and canceled our reservation. Vitor handled the situation and booked us a new hotel before we knew there was a problem. We ended up in Panzano in Chianti and I have to tell you, it was wonderful. It was surrounded by beautiful, pastoral countryside. It had the best hotel we stayed in, and was blessed with at least two wonderful restaurants. I would go back there without hesitation.
Vitor promotes Italy by Italians and the idea that visitors should experience the culture, see the countryside and smaller towns. We bought into that idea and in addition to Panzano, we also saw Sienna and two other little places tucked in the mountains. We saw a lot of Italy from the trains.
We also chose to take a Tuscan cooking class rather than another short side trip and it was really special to visit a private home, help the cook prepare dinner and then sit down with them to have a meal and a conversation.
We both recommend Vitor if you want a custom, private tour experience. We had a wonderful trip and will call them again if we go back to Italy.
Grazie e ciao
